We just returned from Walt Disney World September 16, 2013. We did not tell our girls Madison (7) & Melodie ( 3) we were going. We told them we were going to visit old friends of ours, Donald and Dale. (Hey...it wasn't a lie, I've met Donald and Dale on several occasions and consider them old friends!)

We drove from Maryland to Florida over a two day span.  I pack travel bags for each girl for the car whenever we travel. In this case I packed all things Disney. They had coloring books, crayons, reading books, stickers, dry erase board, a book with little Disney Princess figurines inside to play with, magic ink books, along with bracelets and necklaces.  I also took Disney games for the leap pad and Disney dvd's for the tv. Hubs was sure they would figure it out but they did not put two and two together.

We had our refillable Disney characters water bottles. I also packed Disney themed snacks. I found Disney snack ziplocks at the dollar store.  Here are some of my Disney snack ideas:  Disney animal crackers from Costco, Mickey shaped rice crispy treats and brownies made using Mickey pans. In the cooler you can pack Disney yogart cups, use cookie cutters to cut out Mickey, Minnie, and Princess shaped watermelon slices, cheese snacks and sandwiches.

I’ve done many fruit arrangement for the girls birthday parties using my cookie cutters.  The time saving secret is to carve the watermelon slices using your electric carving knife then once the slices are all carved it is just a matter of cutting out the shapes using the cookie cutters.  It might take me an hour to carve it all out.  I usually do this the day before the party and then quickly assemble the basket right before the party so everything stays fresh.  However for traveling the slices could be placed in the Disney snack bags or you could make individual fruit salad bowls to throw in the cooler.
